Polymer Reaction Engineering

This course deals with the theory and industrial practice of polymers, polymerization process engineering, and polymer reactor design and analysis. It covers polymerization kinetics for various types of polymerizations, including condensation, free radical, cationic, anionic, and coordination; polymerization processes, including bulk, solution, emulsion, dispersion, gas phase, and slurry; polymer reactor design optimization and control, polymer materials structure and property characterization, and recent developments in the field. Prerequisite: Permission of professor, based on adequate background in organic chemistry, chemical reaction kinetics and reactor engineering. (lec 3) cr 3
